Is your aim to work on team dynamics, boost morale and build closer connections between your colleagues, perhaps more so in these days of home and “hot desk” working? Is your aim to find relationship building projects that feel "miles away" from the stresses and strains of your working desk and boost well being? And, is your aim to have some (mentally and physically) energetic and healthy fun with colleagues, clients or friends?
The great news is that our experienced coaches at Kingston Rowing Club have teamed up to provide top class learning and development, fun events on the tranquil and serene Thames that are tailored to make sure that your boxes are all ticked when it comes to giving you all you might need from a relationship building, well being and/or client event.
Offering a range of tailored packages set against the wonderful backdrop of our legendary stretch of the River Thames, close to Kingston town centre, our coaches will ensure your team building training and well being goals are met in the most engaging way possible.

People rightly say that rowing is the ultimate team sport - the more you operate in sync with other members of your crew, the quicker and smoother the boat moves in the right direction. The perfect metaphor for the way you would like your team to perform! And, of course, it’s great fun too. People also say that being by the river, or, even better, on it, is a wonderfully calming experience - a sense of space, tranquility and somewhere for your mind to wander away from the day to day thoughts of the workplace.
At Kingston Rowing Club Team and Relationship Building, Wellbeing and Corporate Events London, we cater for businesses wishing to invite their staff or clients to a very different kind of relationship building event. Our purpose-built boathouse sits right on the most attractive and calmest part of the River Thames (non-tidal water that’s easier and smoother to row on). Just 25 minutes by train from Central London, we offer a whole new experience and a brand new way of thinking about your actions and how they impact others.
After a team briefing and refreshments in our boathouse bar and balcony, a typical format might be as follows:
- learn the sequencing of the rowing stroke under the tutelage of experienced coaches on our Concept 2 indoor rowing machines. This is not about who’s strongest or fastest or fittest. Rowing is about control, connection and timing.
- head out onto the river as a crew in our brand new (and stable) rowing boats (coxed by experienced users of the river) to learn to move together as one team
- race against other crews for the traditional rowing prize - the tankard
- perhaps have a go at sitting in a fine single boat on your own or work together to rig a boat to a river worthy state
- relax in our bar or on our balcony overlooking the Thames to share experiences and enjoy well-earned food and drink refreshments
Packages would typically suit 8-30 people (of all ages, shapes, sizes and water experience) and are available all year round.
What companies who’ve tried it think:
Thank you for a terrific day; all the team loved learning a new skill together and your coaches made the whole event relaxing, fun and engaging; and we all enjoyed our evening sunset drink in your “bar with a view".
