The Junior Squad is the largest group at KRC with just over 100 active members. Offering rowing to anyone aged 14-18, we are very proud to be recognised as one of the top junior clubs in the country. The Junior Squad has been on a rise since 2011 when KRC had a Junior Squad of 40, who ended their season with a pennant and course record at the Schools' Head of the River Race, followed by 2 silver medals from the National Schools' Regatta. Since then, our Junior Section has expanded, with Learn to Row courses  feeding new athletes into our well structured system. For the Junior Section, each season is focused on National Schools' Regatta, Henley Women's Regatta and Henley Royal Regatta.
Chris Griffiths is the Director of Junior rowing and has been in charge of the Junior Squad  for more than a decade. The coaching team is lead by Josh Burrows and George Nottidge who, with the support of a dedicated coaching team, have continued to build the standard of junior rowing at KRC. KRC junior crews have qualified regularly, since 2015, for The Fawley Challenge and Diamond Jubilee cups at Henley Royal Regatta and for the Bea Langridge and Nina Padwick Cups at Henley Women's Regatta. The squad has also seen a large medal haul from the National School's Regatta and other National events and has produced a number of athletes who have represented their Country. These are huge achievements for a rowing club, and comes from the huge dedication of our Junior Coaches and the hard work of our athletes.
