Head of the River

On Sunday morning, two eights from Kingston Rowing Club set out on the tideway to race the most prestigious men's head race in the UK Rowing Calendar. After a difficult build up to the race with various injury and illness, the crews boated from Putney ready for a gruelling 19 mins of Tideway torture. The crews raced well, achieving our best results for quite some time, with the 1st 8+ placing 26th (improving 3 places on 2016) and the 2nd 8+ placing 71st (improving 64 places on 2016). Notable mentions must go also to Kingston RC member Matt Rowe who took the overall win while sitting in the bow seat of Brookes 1.
