These numbers must be returned to the boathouse they came from after the race, replacement/lost numbers will be charged at £10 each.

Your attention is drawn to the attached document, ‘Crews Instruction, Rules’ which should be studied carefully as they contain important  race information.

River conditions for Saturday look good and the weather outlook is fair so may we wish you a pleasant day and a good row.

Remember, there has been an important change to this event and it will now be run in two divisions. Eights in the morning at 11:00, Quads/Fours in the afternoon at 14:00.

Entries must be sent by post, or email to the address contained on the poster. Entries close on Fri 12th March 2010.

We look forward to seeing you on the day.

2010 will mark the 51st anniversary of this event, which KRC holds on the Kingston reach above Teddington Lock. Initially the race was run over a distance of approximately 4 miles but this was subsequently shortened slightly some 15 years ago. The event which is a timed race is now held over a distance of approximately 3.5 miles starting at the Water Gallery, Hampton Court and finishing at Stevens Eyot, ½ mile below Kingston Railway Bridge and opposite Kingston Rowing Club in Canbury Gardens.

Last year saw a record entry of crews and this has now prompted a radical change to the event. Whereas before the Eights and smaller boats have all rowed in one division, this year will see for the first time, the Eights competing in the morning and the smaller boats in a second division which will run early in the afternoon.

The race in 2010, will be held on the 20th March, the first division starting at 11.0am followed by the second division at 2.0pm. With over 1,600 competitors taking part, the Kingston Head of the River Race is one of the largest of its kind in the area.
All the crews row past the Queens Promenade and Riverside Walk on their way to the Finish.

KHORR was last held on Sat 14th March 2009 at 2:00pm.
