Sprint Event at the Club 21st May at 11:30

The President of Kingston Rowing Club, Peter King, is pleased to announce that the club will be holding a Spring Event for members and guests at the Clubhouse at 11:30 on the 21st May 2017.

  • Peter King will thank all the volunteers that make the Kingston Head of the River race and the Kingston Small Boats Head of the River race so successful, attracting record levels of entries.
  • Farrell Mossop, Chairman of Kingston Regatta, will thank all the volunteers, many of whom are from Kingston Rowing Club or 'Tiffin parents', for running one of the most successful regattas in the country.
  • Following the award by Sport England of a £75,000 Inspired Facilities grant for Canbury Boathouse, we have upgraded the lighting and electrical systems and installed double glazing throughout. The club will say a thank you to Sport England and to those responsible for getting the work done. And also to the funders of the President's Jubilee Fund which covered the club's contribution to the Inspired Facilities project.
  • We will name the clubhouse bar 'The Ayling Bar' in recognition of the great contribution that Richard, who we lost recently, and Astrid and their family have made to the club over many years. Dracott and Fennemore are kindly sponsoring improvement work to the bar.
  • Four 'Jack Petchey' awards will be made to members of our Junior section for outstanding achievement.
  • Last, but not least, we will be naming two fours:
    • Richard Ayling – if you would like to make a donation to the purchase of this boat, go to the Richard Ayling Boat Fund on MyDonate.
    • CNM Estates – Kingston Regatta, sponsored by CNM Estates, made a substantial contribution to the purchase of this boat.*CNM Estates – Kingston Regatta, sponsored by CNM Estates, made a substantial contribution to the purchase of this boat.
