Kingston Rowing Club welcomes new members at all times of the year, although the main training and racing season lasts from the start of October to the end of July.
The following is a brief overview of the different training groups at the club. All you need to do is complete an application form and contact the relevant squad coach or coordinator on the contacts page .
New members are usually given a few sessions to see how they enjoy the sport before making any financial commitment, so get in touch today and we look forward to seeing you at the club.
The Squads:
Novices
Novices are either beginners, or more experienced rowers who have yet to win a competitive race
Beginners are usually taken from their first strokes in a rowing boat, to winning at local regattas in thier first year. at kingston
If you have some rowing experience already you may be capable of joining in with the senior or veteran squad rowers depending on your experience.
Juniors
Senior Men and Women
The senior squads cover everyone from recent novice winners to international hopefuls.
Whatever your ability we can find a crew for you. Just let us know a little about your experience and we'll do our best to fit you into the righgtt squad on day 1
Veterans
Kingston's veteran squad starts with people in their early thirties and ofter train alongside the senior squad.
Leviathans
The Leviathan squad are our 'ultra' veterans who meet on a more informal basis each month, with a strong emphasis on social rowing. Ideal for those who no longer have the time to remain competitive but wish to stay in touch with the sport.
