Parents Meeting Starts Off the 2007 Junior Season

The 11th October saw a very well attended Parents meeting kicking off KRCs 150th year.

The meeting was introduced by KRC chairman Guy Lewis and a packed agenda covered the introduction to new parents of our lead coaches for each age group: Senior Coach Richard Ayling (J18-14 group) and ARA Coach Phil Harfield (J13-11 group).

The 2007-8 season training and racing plans were presented to the meeting.

The 20006-7 season awards for were presented by Guy Lewis for Effort and Achievement with Jennie Brereton receiving the award for Effort and last years Junior High Performance group as a whole receiving the award for Achievement.

In addition our new Junior Captain Tom Lloyd and Vice Captains Max Wood (boys) and Jennie Brereton (girls) were presented with their badges.

In recognition of the success of the junior section the club has also agreed that a Junior Captains board will be initiated to record those elected to the office.

Another win for the KRC Junior Section: WJ15x+ at Kingston Regatta

It was great to see the KRC Women's Junior 15 Coxed Quad, having beaten Walbrook on the way through, notch up such a convincing win (2.5 lengths) against Calpe RC at our own Kingston Amateur Regatta in July.

The quad all received lidded pots celebrating the Regatta's 150th anniversary and look to be in good shape to take the club's 150th season by storm. (yes, the Regatta is one year older than the club!)

Well done to all the girls
